The Highland woman who needs no introduction; or does she?

There is a fascinating tale to tell around the material culture associated with Flora Macdonald. One which my friend, Vanessa Martin (curator and manager of the West Highland Museum) is working hard on at present for her MLitt in Museum Studies dissertation. She will publish her research in due course.

After a rather amazing discovery on the afternoon of 27th May 2021, I have started a project to do with Flora Macdonald. I have recently been awarded funding from the Spirit of the Highlands Spirit.360 project to bring this project to life. It is hoped that the work I do will compliment Vanessa’s work, for the benefit of the West Highland Museum and also the wider knowledge.

More info to follow, but keep an eye on my Instagram (@sassenachstitcher) for updates in the meantime.
