As you can see from the images above, it wasn’t sewn by a professional seamstress. The family believes that Isabella sewed the dress entirely by herself for her wedding, which puts the date of manufacture at a probable late 1784 – very early 1785 (seeing as they got married on 12th January 1785).
There are no signs of any alterations having ever taken place.
Total fabric length for the whole dress is about 9.5 metres.
It is a standard robe à l’anglaise, but with a few quirks.
